ABOUT BEENZINO

Lim Sungbin, commonly known as Beenzino was born was born in 1987 to painter Keum Dongwan. He learned English when living in New Zeland for three years. Around the age of eleven, he first came into contact with hip-hop music and soon after started rapping and writing songs. Beenzino's career began when he uploaded one of his self-made tracks to the hip-hop community of the DC Tribe website , and was recognized and contacted by Simon Dominic. After attending Seoul Arts High School, Lim Sungbin started studying plastic arts at Seoul National University while making music, as a result of his father not allowing him to pursue hip-hop instead of an education.

Beenzino first started to receive attention for being the host MC of P’Skool’s “Daily Apartment” and for being a member of Simon Dominic’s Illest Konfusion (IK) crew. Howevr that didn't satisfy the artist. One year later, Jazzyfact (consisting of Beenzino and long-time friend Shimmy Twice),  released their famous “Lifes Like” LP. To make himself more recognized, Beenzino worked hard, accepting nearly every featuring request that came in. Consequently, he was awarded “Featured Artist of the Year” by Hiphopplaya both in 2010 and 2011. Beenzino then joiuned Illionaire Records in 2011 and is still signed under the lable. 

The first official release that contained Beenzino’s name was Overclass’ “Collage 2” where he featured on the tracks “Ride” and “Sunshine.”
